Setting Up a Homepage Change to Your Desired Website

Day by day, as technology grows, computer programs are updating their software and scripts to meet with the present consumer demand. Nowadays when people want everything at their fingertips and don’t want to waste time on repeating the same procedure every time, all devices including computers and mobiles changed their surfaces to be more user-friendly and tried to reduce the effort that it took for a user to go to an area by various methods such as cell phones providing a shortcut inbox key instead of the user browsing through 3 separate menus.

Many new computer operators find difficulty in adjusting with browser operations and most are confused about having their homepage change to their favorite site or the web they like to look at once their browser opens up. It can also be easily accessed by a single mouse click on almost all Windows’ browsers. Although there are numerous internet browsers available on the internet and every person wants his own homepage, I’ll explain the step by step procedure for setting up a homepage change on the five most popular browsers and as an example we’ll take the most common homepage of Google.com.
Mozilla Firefox

1. Browse to the “Tools” tab in the top menu and click on “Options”
2. Click on the “General” tab
3. In the “Startup” box you will see a “Home Page” field
4. Enter your required homepage web such as http://www.google.com and click on OK.

Google Chrome
1. Click on the top right lever-type icon in the browser which says “Customize and Control”
2. Go to the “Options” selection and click on the “Basics” tab
3. If you want to redirect your homepage to a website, choose “Open this page” and enter your desired website such as http://www.google.com, otherwise choose the first option for a blank page.
4. Click on Close when done.

Internet Explorer
1. Select the “Tools” option from the top-right bar on IE7
2. Choose “Internet Options” from the drop down menu and click on the “General” tab
3. In the “Home Page” field, type your desired homepage web such as http://www.google.com and click OK.

Apple Safari
1. Select the “Preferences” option from the Safari menu
2. Navigate to the “General” tab in the popup that opens
3. Enter your desired website such as http://www.google.com in the field appearing in the middle of the popup and press OK when completed.

It should be noted that the homepage change should be triggered by you alone. If you witness that your browser has changed its homepage automatically without your permission, then you must be injected with spyware and instant action should be taken to remove it. Many applications have also added a new feature to their installations that ask your permission to make their product website your homepage. To stop this homepage change from happening, simply uncheck the box that says anything like make the following site my homepage and install this toolbar etc.

The “about:blank” page indicates that your homepage will currently just show a blank page whenever a new page/tab is opened. However, there might be other things showing up in the page such as recently visited and bookmarked slides in Opera, Chrome and Safari etc.
